FEED – Federated eParticipation Systems for Cross-Societal Deliberation on Environmental and Energy Issues

start projektu: ledna 2008

ukončení projektu: prosince 2009

Project FEED as part of eParticipation initiative is focused on environmental and energy issues. eParticipation (part of EU 7th Framework Programme) is a preparatory action to promote the development and use of information and communication technologies in the legislative and decision-making processes, in parliamentary and government environments, aiming at enhancing the participation of citizens and contributing to better legislation.

FEED Objectives

FEED's individual objectives are the following:

  • Establishing the FEED Network,
  • Bringing together the “actual players”
  • Applying already developed tools for managing content and complex legislative frameworks
  • Contextually annotating legal information and explanatory material
  • Modelling of the exact cross-country deliberation process
  • Increasing awareness
  • Promoting actions for the establishment of a commonly accepted European Energy and Environmental Policy

FEED Expected Results

The FEED Added Value is explicit, at an institutional, communicative and technological level, and spins around the following axes:

  • Producing better quality policy with content federation capabilities.
  • Building trust and gain acceptance of policy by giving NGOs, citizens and businesses the means to supervise government and policy implementation and balancing the power of lobby organisations as far as energy and environmental issues are concerned.
