Borivoj Dvoracek Prize for an article in Anesthesia & Analgesia

Borivoj Dvoracek Prize for the best publication in the field of anaesthesiology and perioperative medicine in 2016 was awarded for the article “Low-dose or high-dose rocuronium reversed with neostigmine or sugammadex for cesarean delivery anesthesia: A randomized controlled non-inferiority trial of time to tracheal intubation and extubation”.

The article was published in Anesthesia & Analgesia. Tomáš Pavlík and Karel Hejduk from IBA MU (nowadays IBA FM MU) were among the authors. The aim of this noninferiority trial was to determine whether rocuronium and sugammadex confer benefit in time to tracheal intubation (primary outcome) and other neuromuscular blockade outcomes compared with succinylcholine, rocuronium, and neostigmine in women undergoing general anesthesia for cesarean delivery.
