Article by authors from IBA MU has been selected as a significant paper in Computers in Biology and Medicine

The article by authors from IBA MU, entitled „Practical use of medical terminology in curriculum mapping“ has been put among Meritorious Papers 2015 in the journal Computers in Biology and Medicine.

The article was published in the August issue of this journal. According to the editorial board, it is one among the 30 best articles published in Computers in Biology and Medicine in 2015.

“Our article provides the latest overview of use of available biomedical dictionaries in the area of education in medical and health care disciplines. At the same time, it describes the implementation of a selected dictionary – namely the MeSH dictionary – into our system for the administration and mapping of curriculum, called OPTIMED,” explained Martin Komenda, PhD, lead author of the article.

An in-depth analysis revealing hidden relations in the description of education at the Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University in Brno is the most significant outcome. Additionally, this article is one of the first real outputs of international cooperation with Swedish colleagues from the Karolinska Institutet.
